Workshops at My Cottage Studio
Altered Books and Mixed Media Magic $150
1-day workshop, Sunday, April 15th, 9:30 to 5:30 FILLED
1-day workshop, Saturday, June 16th 9:30 to 5:30 two spots open
We all have stories to tell. And we need a space to hold them.
The pages of an existing book will be our canvas to visually get our images and words out. Everything will be our media. Pastels, pastes, gel medium, thread, pins, fabric, acrylics, watercolors, markers….even our palettes.
We will sew, type, paint, collage and scribble. We will experiment with several easy ways to create photo transfers.
This workshop is perfect for answering a creative pull you feel deep in your soul or for artists who are longing to play again and call out their muse. Email me for details.
"Your class inspired me so deeply to deal with things long past, process them, let them out and then close the book instead of keeping things bottled way down deep. I'm feeling the pull to get my hands dirty more than ever and feel myself falling down the rabbit hole of needing these books and this process more than I need food right now." - Becky.
Creating the life we want on the pages of an altered book $150
1-day workshop, Sunday, May 6th, 9:30 to 5:30 FILLED
Recently I have made some sweeping and beautiful changes in my life. I saw them first on the pages of an altered book I created. In this workshop, I am going to share this transformative process that has changed the way I am living my life.
The pages of an existing book will be our canvas to visually express how we want to feel and be. It will be tactile; full of layers, colors and smells. We will work with images and colors so we can clearly see the future we are creating for ourselves. Everything will be our media. Pastels, pastes, gel medium, thread, pins, fabric, acrylics, watercolors, markers….even our palettes. We will sew, type, paint, collage and scribble. We will experiment with several easy ways to create photo transfers. We will create a clear and beautiful vision on the pages of an existing book of all that is to come. Email me here for details.
