Celebrate Earth Day with me at jane Consignment, Princeton, NJ
Saturday, April 20th, 11a to 4p, trunk show at jane Consignment, 7 Spring Street, Princeton, NJ
“Recycled Affirmations and Art”: I am going to be at jane for the day and bring along all my new recycled artwork. Colorful flower clocks made out of signage, positive hand-scripted words that inspire, small original canvases, prints and tiny recycled bouquets. In honor of Earth Day, I will giving my signed handmade art cards to the first 30 people who come in. These little cards started me on this artful journey. I am so happy to be celebrating Earth day at jane, as our values are so aligned. Plus, it is one of my favorite places to shop.
Thursday/Friday, April 25th and 26th, 5:30p to 9:00p (some time added to shop/munch/have a glass of wine/chat), a two-day evening altered book workshop at jane Consignment, 7 Spring Street, Princeton, NJ
“The things we keep”: Using a meaningful book, we will create an altered book journal where we can honor our own unique journey. We will make an amazing collage cover and sew pockets into the pages to hold memories and things we save. In honor of Earth Day, found objects and junk mail will take on new meaning as we combine reusing materials with mixed media. We will create folders and artful places of expression in our books. After applying gesso, the pages become our canvas where we draw, paint, sew, collage, sand, and cut. A sewing machine will be brought to class. Cost is $75 plus a $10 material fee. I will put together an inspiration bag for each attendee full of bits and pieces to use in their altered books. Space is limited for this special event. Contact jane to sign up. 609-683-5263. Wine and refreshments will be served after class each and jane will stay open till 9 p.m. Ps. If Anthropologie was a consignment store with a an emphasis on green items and art at original price, they would jane.
Saturday, April 27th, 11a to 4p, trunk show at Urban Details, 1115 3rd Avenue, Spring lake, NJ
I love this boutique! It is filled with unique home and soul products that calm and inspire me. I will here with my original art and a table full of positive hand-scripted words affirming what we know already…”I am enough”…”I am fearless”…”I am grateful”. It is fashion week in Spring Lake and on this Saturday, the focus will be on art, jewelry and positive affirmations.

Turning Books into Art Journals: honoring others and ourselves on mixed media pages at the AOY Art Center, Yardley, Pa
April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2013
6 sessions/Thursdays 9:30am – 12:00pm
Found objects and junk mail will take on new meaning as we combine reusing materials with mixed media. We will create folders and artful places of expression in our books. After applying gesso, the pages become the canvas on which we work: draw, paint, sew, collage, sand, and cut. We will experiment with photo transfers too. Students learn how to create handles and tags for their journals by creatively using materials that are usually discarded. A sewing machine will be brought to each class.
Supplies provided by both student and Instructor. Materials list sent out upon registration: (simple things you already have at home, including a meaningful book to be altered). For more information and to sign up, look here.
Summer Art camps for Kids at AOY Art Camp
This summer I will be teaching five summer camps on beautiful historic Patterson Farm in Yardley, Pa. The camps I am teaching all have a fun emphasis on reusing as we create. We will be painting chairs, making clocks from scrap plastic, altering books, reverse glass painting on windows, getting really creative with salvaged signage and cleaning our brushes on a canvases that become a piece of art. I teach a few different age groups. Details are here under education.
